COLLECTION #3: Toy Watches

Aren't these fun? Are you old enough to remember having a toy watch when you were a child? Back before cheap digital watches, and (horrors) wearing no watch at all, every child wanted to A. look like Mom or Dad with a grown-up looking watch of his own, or B. have his favorite cowboy or cartoon star on his wrist! For a dime or a quarter or so, you could have anything from a cheap carnival watch that broke before you got it home, or a realistic looking timepiece with a 'real' leather band and a pretty box to store it in.

I love the cool retro deco one probably from the late '30s or '40s, with the great detail. The band hasn't even curled up like the other ones!

Whether they are real or pretend, there's just something about wristwatches that I love!

By the way, every Tuesday is Toy Tuesday!
